It’s been awhile since we posted an update on our Mars Project and since Spring is just around the corner, the team wanted to give you quick recap of work completed and all the exciting things still to come!
All the larger hardscape aspects of the project have been completed including the pool, custom lounging area, fire pit patio, and my favorite; the rose garden patio! The cinder colored pergola was even installed late December.
What I love most about the pergola was the visual impact it created in the backyard. It really scaled down the vast openness of the space and made it feel more intimate and inviting.
The majority of the plants where installed last fall as well including the sod, but we hit the cut-off with ordering perennials and roses. The rest of the plants- including 45 beautiful floribunda, and tea roses- are on expected arrive once the threat of frost is gone.
We’re also anticipating the irrigation and lighting to be completed this Spring as well. Personally I can’t wait to see the lighting installed! Lighting is like icing on the cake in a landscape design and watching it turn on for the first time always feels a little bit surreal and dreamlike.
